Before addressing about the history of Wrist tying, I would like to mention, where and how the Karen tries descended. The Karen Race descended from Babylon to Burma by the year of BC-2234, through out the journey to Burma. They were passing through Mongolia. Takistan and Yunnan and settled in Burma BC 1125. From Yunan to Burma in the year of BC 741 and settled Burma BC 739. as a second group. In their long journey. experiencing with the various natural calamities such as eruption of volcano, the tempest storm wild forest fire. heavy flood and soon.
Bassing on the incredile calamities that they faced, they started worrying and suspected that all the disasters were created by evil spirit, the demons. In order to prevent from all there unwanted calamities. they began to call upon the Holy Spirit to dwell in their bodies through out their lives. So as to prevent from the demons away from the people, they used to make wrist tying.
As sign or an indication our forefather left as an inheritance for us. By tying a person's Wrist with white cotton threat, the Holy Spirit come and dwell in him and protect him from the evil ghost. And in this celevration, remind us to reflet the day of our departure from Balylon.
